Animation Abominations: I AM THE EGG MAN

For this Installment of Animation Abominations FYB is Happy to Present The Surreal Stop motion Horror by Sam Barnett who also served as Director.

The Plot is rather simple as it centers around Nondescript Man who is Isolated in a White Room with some Odd Black Lines that make a vague symbol of some kind. The Man Tears Himself apart Piece by Piece as each Piece rolls itself into an “Egg” that rolls into an Adjacent Room. In the Alternate Room there is a Mutant Creature who Devours the Eggs Enthusiastically, and then produces Blood that is collected in a small Pool that has a couple of Tubes extending out from the Wall above it.

As the Isolated Man sacrifices His Feet, Shins, and Thighs He opens a Cupboard where a Fetal Being is Lying Motionless. The Man Connects a Tube via a Huge Needle to the Fetal Being where the Tube pumps Blood into the Fetal Being. In an Unforeseen Twist the Man Rips off His Head Off (having already having used BOTH his legs) and pinches His Neck assumably to keep from Bleeding Out. The Man’s severed head rolls into the Adjacent room, BUT instead of being Eaten by the Mysterious Egg Eating Mutant Creature it ends up Impaled on a Microphone Stand which is sitting in the Middle of a Stage. A single Spot light shines down to illuminate the Head and Mic Stand as the Sound of Static (or Dead Air as its called sometimes) before an Unknot Person removes the Head and exits the Stage. The Camera lingers for a few additional seconds before adding too Black.

So what the fuck is going on Here, What’s the Point Really? Our Best Guess is it’s an Artistic Representation of Life and Death. The Old Sacrifice Their Actual Lives Physically/Emotionally/Mentally to Help Raise, Educate, and Bolster the Next Generation coming after it. Think of how much Parents personally Sacrifice for the Betterment of Their Offspring. In the End the Parent(s) have dedicated (or given) Their entire existence to the Child from its Birth until The Parent’s inevitable Death. Enjoy.

A Short Sunday Horror Movie: The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow

THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW is a Multiple Award Winning Short Horror Film Written by Rodrigo Gudino who also Directed the Film along with Vincent Marcone.

The Movie Focuses on a Single Photograph from the 1930’s that Tells an Entire Tale of KIDNAPPING, MURDER, and SACRIFICE captured in a Single Haunting Moment!! As the Movie starts to Scratch the Surface of the Picture it Reveals a Tapestry of HIDDEN AND SINISTER SECRETS in the Details Proving Nothing is as it Appears.

At the Beginning of the Movie starts the Audience is Shown a News Clipping with the Head Line that a Child has Disappeared, and is Believed to be One of an Estimated 100 Victims. A by-line shown in the same Clipping mentions PAGANISM is Alive and Flourishing in Northern Ontario. Along with the News Clippings is a Note that says Enclosed with the Clippings is a Photograph, and that the Reader should Look More Closely at It.

From there the Movie is Off and Running challenging the View to find the Preverbal Pieces of the Puzzle and Ensemble them to Reveal the Conclusion. Some of the Details are More Obvious such as One of the Men beginning to Light a Fire made upon Several Crucifixes for example. Other Details are Points of Interest that can be Easily Overlooked for example the Markings on the Hands of All Three Adult Males, The Car Mirror Showing BLOOD SPLATTER, The Crosses Nailed to Trees, and The BODY in the Backseat of the Car.

Eventually the Photograph reveals Two Additional People in the Background who are Both PRIESTS, and Apparently Holding a Shotgun Menacingly on the Group in the Forefront. This raises the immediate Question of Why do Priest have a Shot Gun in the first fucking place, and Why do They have it Turned on the Group is such an Aggressively Hostile manner?! In the End the Audience is left with the Biggest Question of them all and that Question is as Follows.  WHO is the Cloaked and Menacing FINAL PERSON in the Photograph Reflected in the Sunglasses worn by One of the Men, and How does this Most Mysterious Figure Fit into the Story Trapped within the Photograph? Enjoy.

We Hope You Enjoyed this Dark Tale of Mystery and Murder as Much as We Did.

David Firth’s CROOKED ROT

Being the Huge David Firth Fan’s that We are We felt it was More than appropriate that We Showcase some of His Intensely Surreal Stop Motion Animation. Crooked Rot is a Prime Example of Why the Word NIGHTMARE is used Most Often to Describe Firth’s Body of Work (and Why We are such Diehard Fans). Crooked Rot Does Not Disappoint with its Haunting Imagery, Disturbing Visuals, and Unnerving Content.

Our best guess is Crooked Rot is a Commentary on Technology/Social Media and Its Affects upon Humanity as a Whole. The Video follows a Variety of Disembodied Heads and Hands as They Navigate a Frantic and Sometimes Hostile World. The Heads Only interact with One another when They have a Pipe Like Tube Screwed into their Heads linking Their Brains.

We are basing Our Belief that Crooked Rot is a Commentary on Technology on 3 Key Clues Located within the Video. The First is The Pig Head Types Manically on a Computer Keyboard before constructing a Brick Wall. The Second Clue is when the Wall Deconstructs there is a Head inside of a Computer Monitor, and Lastly there is the Generic Computer Error Message. The Error Message appears for an instant right at the end of the Second Set of Flashing Images. We viewed the Video numerous Times and were able to Decipher that at the Top in the Blue Bar it says: DSLR REMOTE PRO, but unfortunately We were Unable to Read the Text (Though Not due to a lack of Trying as We watched the Video Relentlessly Attempting to Isolate the Text until Our Eyes Bled).

The Most Interesting and Intriguing part of this Video as Far as We are Concerned is in the Intro Title Sequence the word CROOKED appears followed by the word ORCUS, and finally Rot. We looked into Exactly What the Word ORCUS Means or What it Is and this is what We uncovered. ORCUS is a Fictional Demon Prince and Lord of the Undead in Many Campaign settings for the Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Role-Playing Game. He is named after ORCUS of Roman Mythology.

In Roman (and Italic) Mythology Orcus was the God of The Underworld, The Punisher of Broken Oaths, and Tormentor Evildoers in the Afterlife. Orus’s Origins may have Lain in the Etruscan Religion which was comprised of a Set of Stories, Beliefs, and Religious Practices of the Etruscan Civilization Originating in the 7th Century BC.  Orcus was Worshipped in Rural Areas as He had No Official Status or Following in the Cities. The Remoteness allowed for Orcus to Survive in the Confines of the Countryside Long After more Prevalent Gods had Ceased to be Worshipped. Orcus even went on to Survive as a Folk Figure all the way into the Middle Ages, and is even Referenced in Modern Day European Wild Man Celebrations.

Enjoy.

Sebastian’s Voodoo which was Directed and Animated by Joaquin Baldwin is a Short and Tragic Tale of Self Sacrifice to Serve the Greater Good. Sebastian’s Voodoo takes place in a Voodoo Doll Makers Work Shop where Numerous VooDoo Dolls hang on Miniature Meat Hooks. The Voodoo Dolls Who possess some form of Conciseness are subjected to The Doll Maker’s Sadistic Torture at the Hands of The Dll Maker Who repeatedly Impales the Dolls periodically causing Them a Great Deal of Pain and Torment.

One Voodoo Doll manages to wriggle off its Meat Hook and makes a brief escape. The Doll then becomes aware of it’s own VooDoo Powers, and uses Itself to Target the Doll Maker. The Doll Maker who had Another Voodoo Doll in His grasp retaliates Using His Voodoo Doll to Attack the Escaped Doll. A Brutal Duel ensues with Each Combatant wielding Their Iron Will Unyieldingly.

Finally The Escaped Doll comes to the grim Conclusion that it can Kill the Malicious Doll Maker by Stabbing Itself in it’s Own Heart which in Turn would Kill it as Well in Some sort of a Bizarre Hybrid Murder-Suicide. The Doll Accepts Its fate and Plunges the Needle deep into its Chest puncturing Its Heart as it the Falls to its Knees and Dies. Meanwhile the Malevolent Doll Maker Freezes and then Collapses to the Floor Dead as Well. The Remaining Voodoo Dolls Free Themselves from Their Hooks, and Surround the Martyred Dolls Deceased Body. Enjoy.

Doll Face is a Haunting Cautionary Tale of the Entrapments of Vanity and The Pursuit of Perfection by Andy Huang. Doll Face is a Mechanical Robotic Mechanism with a Female Human Face. Doll Face becomes Obsessed with the Images of Beauty Personified in a Make Up Model on a Television that is Suspended from the Ceiling. Each Time the Image changes Doll Face immediately replicates the Image though each time the Image Changes the Television Retracts back towards the Ceiling. This forces Doll Face to Strain Harder and Harder each time to See The Next Image. Finally Doll Face is incapable of Seeing the images on the Television, and Doll Face Strains So Intently to See the Television that She inevitably Self Destructs. The Video Ends with Doll Face Laying Broken on the Floor done in by Her Own Desire to Emulate The Endless Images of Perceived Beauty within Society. Enjoy.

FYB Presents Animation Abominations: BOBBY YEAH

This Installment of Animation Abominations features BOBY YEAH By the Extremely Talented Artist Robert Morgan in Association with Blue Light. Morgan’s Various Works of Art would make Maynard James Keenan (and The Rest of the Members of Tool) Green with Envy and Clive Barker Blinded by Jealousy.

Plot Summery: Well what could I possibly sat about Bobby Yeah other than it seems to be a Tale of The Main Character Bobby’s search for Love/Friendship/Comfort in His Own Surreal Personal Inter Dimensional Hell. Along the Way Bobby encounters Monstrous Mutant Creatures Some Aggressive, Some Insane, and Some I have No fucking Idea What They Are Honestly.

If I had to make an Educated Guess I’d say Bobby Yeah is a Social Commentary on the Alienation, and Longing People Feel as They haphazardly Navigate Through (the Highs and Horrors) of Life looking for Companionship and Affection.

We here at FYB Hope You Thoroughly Enjoyed Robert Morgan’s Insane Odyssey BOOBY YEAH as much as We Did/Do.

Animation Abominations: METACHAOS and HELL

Animation has Gone Far Beyond the Classic Limitations of Cartoon Animation  Ascending to Whole New Levels of Creativity and Ingenuity. We are Fans of the Following Talented Animators and wanted to give Our Readers/Viewers (whichever the case may be) a Chance to Lay Your Eyes Upon some of Their Perspective Work. Enjoy.

METACHAOS  by Alessandro Bavari

Bavari Explains His work METACHOAS in the Following Way:

“Metachaos, from Greek Meta (beyond) and Chaos (the abyss where the eternally-formless state of the universe hides), indicates a primordial shape of ameba, which lacks in precise morphology, and it is characterized by mutation and mitosis. In fact the bodies represented in METACHAOS, even though they are characterized by an apparently anthropomorphous appearance, in reality they are without identity and conscience. They exist confined in a spaceless and timeless state, an hostile and decadent hyperuranium where a fortress, in perpetual movement, dominates the landscape in defense of a supercelestial, harmonic but fragile parallel dimension. In its destructive instinct of violating the dimensional limbo, the mutant horde penetrates the intimacy of the fortress, laying siege like a virus. Similar to the balance of a philological continuum in human species, bringing the status of things back to the primordial broth.

METACHAOS is a multidisciplinary audio-visual project, articulated in a short film, a set of photography and mix-technique paintings. The purpose of the project is to represent the most tragic aspects of the human nature and of its motion, such as war, madness, social change and hate.”

WARNING: Some Viewers May Find The Following Videos to Contain Imagery or Content that Some Viewers May find Upsetting, Unsettling, Unnerving, Disturbing, Troubling, Objectionable, or Offensive. Please Enjoy.

For those Who May Be Unaware We Here at FYB are Serious Fans of David Firth So We Decided to Delve Deeper into Firth’s Horrific Body of Work.

The Only Way We could Describe Firth’s “Hell” is to use a Quote from Firth Himself pertaining to His Work:

“It’s a Nightmarish Stream Of Conscience” -David Firth

Please Enjoy.

We Hope You Enjoyed That Dark Double Dose of  Derangement from  Alessandro Bavari and David Firth as much as We Did. And as Always Thanks for Watching.
