BELIAL’S DREAM

Welcome to Today’s FYB Post Belial’s Dream (2017) Directed By Robert Morgan who also Wrote the Screen Play. Belial’s Dream was Originally a Short Film Commissioned for Arrow Films’ Blu Ray Release of Frank Henenlotter’s  Movie Basket Case.

For Those Who May be Unaware Basket Case is the 1982 Cult Slasher Horror Classic Directed by Frank Henenlotter and Produced by Edgar Levins. To Sum Up Basket Case in a Nutshell Duane and His Extremely Deformed and Psychotic Conjoined Twin Be are Surgically Separated as Kids. Duane carries  Belial around NYC in a Locked Wicker Picnic Basket as the Twins seek Revenge on the Doctor’s that Separated Them. I HIGHLY Recommend You definitely should check out the movie Basket Case as it is in at Least My Humble Opinion a True Horror Classic.

So When I heard of this Video I was instantly interested because I love Fan Fiction Projects. It’s Insanely Entertaining seeing People’s Interpretations come to Life and become an Extenuation of the Movie Itself. Thusly when I saw the Title of the Video the first thing I thought to myself was that’s a Kickass Concept, and I wonder what a Creature as Demented and Deadly as Belial actually Dreams About? Could Belial dreaming of  Rainbows and Bunny Rabbits during His Psychotic Slumber? Yeah I don’t fucking Think So.

Enjoy.

For Shits and Giggles : Where’s The Baby

So another motherfucking Monday is upon us trying to monopolize the course of our week! So to combat the bullshit here is todays FYB post featuring WHERE’S THE BABY by Spine_apples who describes their work as “shitty animation man”. I say their because I don’t think just because the word “man” appears in the quote that it’s an indicator to the sex of the animator. Anyway this 1 minute and 42 seconds of insane absurdity (that granted has a surprisingly funny but kind of grim ending) should serve as a fucking  universal public service announcement for all parents currently on the planet.

PSA: DEAR PARENTS THIS IS HOW THE REST OF THE WORLD SEES YOU. YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS SO CUT THE CRAP.

For Shits and Giggles: “Existential Threat” By Sparks

I think its safe to say we have all had day’s where it seemed the universe has dropped its pants, and is taking a colossal cosmic crap on your entire fucking life.  Those are those days you spend going hour after fucking hour wondering “Why Me?” or “What the fuck did I do to deserve this bullshit?” as the universe plays a fucked up game of cat and mouse with your current reality. It can get so fucking intense that you may actually consider that you have somehow offended the Powers That Be (God, universe, fate and so on) and now are being punished in some bizarre manner.

This bring me to today’s post the official music video for ‘The Existential Threat’ by Sparks (also known as Halfnelson), taken from their 2020 album ‘A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip’. Sparks is an American pop and rock duo formed in 1967 consisting of brothers Ron Mael on Keyboards and Russell Mael on vocals. Sparks are known for their quirky approach to songwriting which is often accompanied by sophisticated and acerbic lyrics often about women or Shakespearean literature references, and an idiosyncratic, theatrical stage presence, typified in the contrast between Russell’s animated, hyperactive frontman antics and Ron’s deadpan scowling. The band is also noted for Russell Mael’s distinctive wide ranging voice and Ron Mael’s intricate and rhythmic keyboard playing style. Sparks  have been far more successful in Europe compared to their native United States, though the band maintains a loyal cult following American non the less.

The video for the song was done by none other than one of our favorite animators cyriak. Cyriak Harris, known Mononymously as Cyriak and His B3ta Username Mutated Monty (Harris has been a Regular Contributor to the British Website B3ta since 2004), is a British Freelance Animator and Composer. He is known for His Surreal, Creepy, and Bizarre Short Web Animations with the Frequent Use of the Droste Effect, and Features Original Dance/Electronic Music By Harris as Well.

Enjoy.

THE SEPARATION

Welcome to Today’s Post the 2003 Animated Stop Motion Short Film SEPARATION Directed, Written, and Animated by Robert Morgan. Robert Morgan has spent the Last Two Decades creating a Body of Work Characterized by Nightmarish Stop Motion, and Described as a Disorienting Trip into the Subconscious. Morgan has sited Francis Bacon, Edgar Allen Poe, and The Brothers Quay as some of His Biggest Influences.

Robert Morgan in His Own Words:

As a kid, I always found stop-motion creepy. I love horror and making nightmarish films, and stop-motion animation is perfect for that. The way everything moves has an unnatural, uncanny feeling, a weird jerkiness. Everything is somehow alive and dead at the same time.” -Robert Morgan-

Plot Summery:  A Pair of Conjoined Twins are Separated when They are Adolescents with Dire Life Long Consequences for Them Both.

Less Than Human

Hey how the hell are you? Yesterday’s post fell through like a real motherfucker so I (Justin Sane) am here to day. This Post showcases with the 2017 Danish animated Horror/Comedy short film LESS THAN HUMAN by The Animation Workshop and directed by Steffen Bang Lindholm.

Now I must admit two of my favorite books of all fucking time are ANIMAL FARM and NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR both written by none other than the legendary author George Orwell (the pen name for Eric Arthur Blair). Both novels are social commentaries about the injustices perpetrated in/by society, human nature, perception, corrupt government, abuses of power,  and freedom/personal freedom. So naturally when I was tipped off about LESS THAN HUMAN I was an instant fan from the fucking get go.

FUN FACT: The film went through some working titles including “Zobihubie” when it was first pitched. Later it was name “The Story Behind” before the crew finally settled on the title “Less Than Human” which best described the film.

Synopsis: In the aftermath of a zombie outbreak, zombies are cured and exiled to secluded camps. There has been talk about rehabilitating post-zombies back into society. Steve, a freelance journalist reporting on the case, thinks the zombies still pose a threat to society. He ventures into one of these camps to prove to the world that rehabilitation is out the question.

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

Insane Animation: THE HYPE IS REAL

Mondays are Not Only Known for Being Mind Numbingly Mundane, but Mondays also have the Innate Ability to be Maddeningly Manic. To Combat the Mania (that Some Mondays Bring) We decided Our Post This Particular Monday should Mimic that Frantic Lunacy Factor. For that Reason We will be Featuring THE HYPE IS REAL!

This Little Slice of Real Life Absolute Absurdity is By Animator, Director, and Writer Jake Lava. Now as Our Fans are more than likely Aware We at FYB Pride Ourselves in Providing the Most Information on the Subject at Hand. Unfortunately there is VIRTUALLY NO Personal Information about Jake Lava Online (Even Though He has a Twitter Account and YouTube Channel. We were Unable to Locate Him On Facebook though there Several People with Profiles with the Same Name) which in this Day and Age is Utterly Unheard Of (Unless Your a Legit Hermit). What We were able to Unearth were One Quote By Jake Lava Describing Himself/His Work which are as Follows:

Who is Jake Lava:
“I’m just a guy that sometimes animates, and sometimes draws comics too. I use Adobe Flash (it doesn’t really matter what version) for the animation side of things, and Photoshop for backgrounds, and Manga Studio for some other stuff. I sometimes mix this up and draw some stuff traditionally from time to time (like ‘The Sadman’)”  -Jake Lava-

Enjoy.

Immortal Machine | Dystopian Animated Film (2021)

We are Thrilled to bring You “Immortal Machine”the Third of Three NEW EPISODES (that was Posted just 13 hours prior to this Post) in the Apocalyptic Dystopian Animated Short Film Series By Scottish Writer, Director, Sculpture, Painter,  Artist, and Animator David James Armsby. The Short Film Series (which Ended in 2018 and was Revived in 2020) takes place in the Sci Fi Post Apocalyptic Town Known as Autodale where the Citizens are Anything but Normal.

In The Artist’s Own Words:

“You think you understand? All the lies? All the needless atrocities?… No. There is reason, and I want to show you…” Deep in the heart of Autodale lives their Mayor. As old as the town itself, a once great inventor, now a gangly and decaying but undying thing which the townsfolk have long forgotten, but continue to echo his machine-obsessed beliefs. This film follows Autodale’s Exceptional Woman as she journey’s deep down the rabbit hole of the Mayor’s Immortal Machine.

This film was one of the most challenging and taxing projects of my life. The film covers a subject matter that is extremely difficult to pull off from an artistic and technical standpoint. Nothing about the setting, characters or structure of this film was easy to do. That’s actually the reason I’ve put off tackling the heart of Autodale and the Matriarch for so long. I knew to pull it off successfully would require a tremendous amount of time, effort and artistic know-how which I didn’t feel confident I could do. It wasn’t until after finishing my previous and longest animated short film, “Friendly Shadow”, that I finally felt that I was at the skill level required for this gigantic project. I’m not in love with all of it, but overall I think it definitely succeeded. This film is extremely ambitious and grand and I’m extremely proud of the result. I really hope you guys like it too! :D”

-David James Armsby-
