In the World of Film Cannibalism could be considered an Important Sub-Genre of the Exploitation Movie Era which was Popular in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Brief Plot Summary: A Plastic Surgeon named Kato Excels at His Job hides a Dark and Deadly Secret. After Finally Succumbing to His Desire to Taste Human Flesh, Kato soon finds Himself ADDICTED TO THE TASTE OF HUMAN FLESH! Kato’s Newly Indulged Cannibalistic Tendencies lead Him to Discover Further Culinary Delights at a Seedy Underground Restaurant with some Extremely Sinister Dishes. MURDER AND MAYHEM ENSUE as the Dementedly Detestable Doctor Continues to find New and Gruesome ways to Satisfy His Abnormal Appetite.

FYB Sick Sunday Cinema is Ecstatic to Present the 2001 Japanese Independent Dark Satirical Horror Movie SUICIDE CLUB Written and Directed by Sion Sono.

Suicide Club (known as Suicidal Circle in Japan) gained a Considerable amount of Notoriety in Film Festivals around the World for its Controversial, Transgressive Subject Matter and Overall Gruesome Presentation. The Movie has Developed a Significant Cult Following over the Years, and Won the Jury Prize for “Most Ground Breaking Film” at the 2003 Fantasia Film Festival.

Brief Plot Summery:

The Movie Begins with the GRISLY SPECTACLE of 54 Teenage School Girls commit Mass Suicide by Jumping in Unison in Front of an Oncoming Train. This appears to be Only the Beginning of a Wave of Suicides that Sweeps across Japan, Baffling the Police and Panicking the Populace. Shortly After the Schoolgirl Suicides Two Nurses at a Hospital Commit Suicide by Jumping Out a Window. At Both Locations, ROLLS OF HUMAN SKIN are Found from the BODIES OF THE DEAD!!

Three Detectives -Kuroda, Shibusawa, and Murata- are Notified by a HACKER Named Kiyoko of a Link between the Sudden Rash of Suicides, and a Website that SHows the Number of Suicides as Red and White Circles. Does the New All Girl Group Pop Group Dessert (Who’s Latest Hit Single has Hypnotized the Nation) have anything to do with It? Will the Suicides Ever Stop? Will the Three Detectives Uncover the Cause of the Tsunami of Suicides Plaguing Their Country???

FYB is Psyched to Present the 1997 Canadian Indie Science-Fiction Horror Film CUBE Directed and Co-Written by Vincenzo Natali. Cube has gained Notoriety and a Rabid Cut Following, for its Surreal Atmosphere and Kafkaesque setting and Concept of Industrial, Cube-Shaped Rooms.

Brief Plot Summery:

Six Total Strangers Awaken One Day to find Themselves Trapped and Alone in a Cubical Maze. Once the Characters meet up, The Group Works Together (Each Using a Specific Skill They Posses) to Navigate Through The Complex Collection of Cubed Rooms.

There is Rennes Who is a Renowned Prison Escape Artist, Student Leaven Who is a Math Prodigy, Doctor Holloway (Who beside Being a Doctor is an Avid Conspiracy Theorist), Kazan is a Servant Who, Quentin is a Police Officer can Out Calculate Leaven, and Worth Who was Unknowingly part of the Design Team who Assembled the Cube.

Each Room is a Cube within the Cube, with Six Hatch Doors opening into Other Rooms, But a Percentage of those Rooms are Equipped with DEADLY BOOBY TRAPS! Not Only That But the Total of 17,576 Rooms ROTATE Their Position within a Set Time Limit causing Disorientation, Confusion, Frustration, and Down Right Insanity.

Using Math Prodigy Leaven’s Math Skill (and Eventually Servant Kazan penchant for Mathematics), The Group Press Forward, Upward, and Downward through a Series of Hatches to Try and Locate the Cube’s Outer Shell and Escape the Cerebral Nightmare. FYB is Diabolically Delighted to Bring Our Fans The 2006 Surrealist Dark Comedy Horror Film Directed and Co-Written By Gyorgy Palfi. The Movie is a Genetic Narrative that Unfolds over Three Generations, or rather Degenerations. Inspecting the Details of this Movie will Allow the Viewer to see how They Inter-Connect. HOWEVER, Inspecting Them may Also make You want to Clamp Your Hand Over Your Mouth as You Run for the Lavatory.

Brief Plot Summery:

Morosgovanyi is a Sexually Frustrated Army Orderly in the Second World War who relieves His Tensions in the Most Outlandish and Gross Ways. Morosgovanyi, a Hunted-looking Man with a Harelip, is Loathed for His Ugliness, but hangs around the Womenfolk at the Barracks, and Burns His Own Body with a Candle while Masturbating, during which He Discovers He has the Ability to Ejaculate Fire. His Penis is Seriously Mistreated by Chickens, but His Frustration is Finally Relieved by Humping a Fat Woman, and Also with a Dead Pig’s Carcass. The Two Procreative Events somehow Fuse, Spiritually- and Horribly- to Produce Balatony, an Extremely Fat Boy with a Pig’s Tail that is Amputated at Birth by His Perturbed Father. Morosgovanyi is ultimately Executed by His Lieutenant Oreg Kalman for a Obscene Indiscretion, and Kalman raises Balatony as His Own.

For Balatony, Lust becomes Gluttony and His Vocation (He’s a Champion Speed Eater) is Stuffing Himself Silly. Eventually Balatony is Unable to Leave His Chair in His Claustrophobic Apartment due to being Monstrously Obese. Matrimony Produces a Son Balatony Lajoska who Purchases Groceries for His Shut In Father and His Fathers Cats. Kalman, who feeds Butter to His Caged Cats, has Nothing but Harsh Words for His Son who, upon Reaching His Breaking Point, Abandons His Father to His Own Hellish Personal Prison. Returning LAter, He Discovers that the CAts have Escaped Their Cages and, Fiending for Flesh, have Eviscerated His Father.

Lajoska stuffs His Father and The Cats. With Little left to Live for, He locks Himself in a Homemade Surgical Harness and Through the Use of Sedatives, Painkillers and a Heart-Lung Machine, begins removing His own Internal Organs. Pumping His Body full of Preservatives and Sewing Himself up, He Activates the Machine that Decapitates Him, leaving behind a Preserved Statue. His Body is Displayed in an Exhibit Alongside His Father and the Cats.

FYB is Delighted to Present the 1980 Italian Exploitation B Horror Movie ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST (also Known as Zombie 3) directed by Marino Girolami. The Movie was Re-Edited and Released Theatrically in the United States under the Title Doctor Butcher M.D. in 1982.

Brief Plot Summer:

The Film starts off in New York, where a Hospital Employee is found to have been DEVOURING CORPSES in the Morgue. Morgue Assistant and Anthropology Expert Lori Discovers He was from the Asian Molucca Islands where She grew up. Dr. Peter Chandler investigates, and HE and Lori discover similar CORPSE MUTILATIONS have occurred in Other City Hospitals, where Immigrants from this Region are Working.

Peter leads an Expedition to the Islands to Investigate, where he liaises with Doctor(and Mad Scientist) Obrero. Included in the Expedition are Peter’s Assistant George, George’s Eager Journalist Girlfriend Susan, Lori, Local Boatsman Molotto assigned by Dr. Obrero, and Three Guides. On the Island They are HUNTED BY CANNIBALS and A ZOMBIE HORDE, the latter Created by the Sinister Doctor Obrero who has been conducting GRUESOME EXPERIMENTS on The Living and The Dead.

In the End Lori is accepted as The QUEEN OF THE CANNIBALS, and Sends the Tribe off to Destroy Doctor/Mad Scientist Obrero and His UNHOLY ZOMBIE ARMY!

Monday Mayhem Movie: VIOLENT SHIT

FUB’s Monday Mayhem Movie Featuring the 1989 German Horror Film Written and Directed by Andreas Schnass, and Distributed by Blood Pictures.

Plot Summery:

A Young Boy named Karl Berger (a Surname given in the Sequel) Murders His Abusive Mother with a MEAT CLEAVER, after She beats Him for returning Home Late. Twenty Years Later in the Mid-1970’s, the Imprisoned Karl is being Transported to an Unspecified Location bu the Police, But manages to KILL HIS CAPTORS and Escape into the Wilderness, somehow acquiring a Cleaver in the Process. Over the Course of Several Days, Karl commits a SERIES OF MURDERS across the Countryside, MUTILATING and occasionally CANNIBALIZING His Victims. After a Double Homicide, Karl passes out and has a Flashback to the Day He Murdered His Mother, Revealing He had been coerced into Killing Her by a DEMON (Who May Be Karl’s Father) He had encountered in the Cellar after being Locked in It.

At one point, Karl also encounters an Apparition of JESUS Crucified in the Forrest, which HE HACKS OPEN, and CRAWLS INSIDE. After this Encounter, Karl commits an Additional Dual Murder outside of a Church, then Collapses in a Field, where HE IS SKIN (which has been Inexplicably Decaying throughout the Film) ROTS OFF, and HE Dies Ripping Himself Open, Revealing a BABY COVERED IN BLOOD.

“However crude the rest of this Amateur Production may be, there’s NO Denying the Power of this Gore-Soaked Mayhem. Both Schnaas’s willingness to Push Boundaries and His attention to Squeamish Detail are Noteworthy…Forcing the Audience to Either Confront it Head On or Look Away in Disgust.” -Brett Gallman (Oh, the Horror!)
