A Sick Saturday Cinema One Movie Double Feature: TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD

FYB is Deviously Delighted to Bring You the 1972 Spanish- Portuguese Zombie Horror Film TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD Written and Directed by Amando de Ossorio. The Original Spanish Title is La note del terror ciego which Translates to The Night of the Blind Terror in English. The Film was the First in Ossorio’s “Blind Dead” Series that Spawned Three Sequels, and Who’s Success Helped Kickstart the Spanish Horror Movie Boom in the 1970’s.

This Movie Presentation is a Little Different than the Normal FYB Format Granted, But Aside from that Please Allow Us to Explain Ourselves. This Particular Double Feature is the Same Movie and there is a Reason for that. The First Version is the English Version then Following it is the Original Spanish-Portuguese Version. Aside from the Fairly Obvious Difference of Subtitles there are In Fact Several Major Differences Between the Two Versions of The Tombs of the Blind Dead..

In the English Version a Flashback of the Living Nights Templar Torturing and Drinking the Blood of a Female Victim was Removed from the Beginning of the Movie. Most of the SEX AND GORE was Removed from the English Version as Well which was Heavily Edited By American Film Distributers. For Example The Scene Depicting the Lesbian Relationship between Betty and Virginia, a Scene in which Pedro Rapes Betty, and a Sequence on a Train in Which the Knights Kill a Woman in Front of Her Child were All Removed.

Brief Plot Summary: In the 13th Century there Existed a LEGION OF EVIL Renegade Knights known as the Templars, Who Quested for Eternal Life by DRINKING HUMAN BLOOD and Committing HUMAN SACRIFICES FOR SATAN! Executed for Their Unholy Black Magic and Inhuman Savagery, the Templar’s Bodies were left Out for The Crows to Peck Out Their Eyes. Now in Modern Dat Portugal, a Group of Unsuspecting People stumble Upon the Templar’s Abandoned Monastery, Thus Reviving Their ROTTING ZOMBIFIED CORPSES to Terrorize the Land Feasting on the Blood of the Living!!

Enjoy.

We Hope You Enjoyed This Tale of The Undead Monk Madness and Murder as Much as We Did.

Cartoons That Aren’t For Children: TEETH

FYB is Delighted to Present the Short Horror Film TEETH By Daniel Gray and Tom Brown, and Presented by ALTER.

TEETH is the Tale of the Narrator’s Life Long Abnormal Obsession with His Teeth and How it Ultimately Affected His Entire Being. From His First Tooth at 2 1/2, and the Utter Disregard for His Teeth that He developed due to the Unpleasantness of the Teething Process.

As a Young Child He would intentionally abuse His Teeth in an Attempt to Literally Punish Them for Their Existence. At 6 1/2 the Narrator Laments that at this point though He managed to Lose His Primary Teeth They were Immediately Replaced by His Adult Teeth. The Narrator had No Interest in Dental Health Only with Sweet Sugary Foods instead.

At 11 He loses a Bicuspid in a Fight After School and finds Absolute Delight in the Gap where His Tooth Used to Be. By 48 the Narrator is continuously Losing His Teeth due the Neglect of Oral Hygiene, and at this Point He actually starts to Miss His Long Lost Teeth since it Complicates Eating (and like MOst of Us He thoroughly Enjoys Food).

Eventually The Narrator has Lost So Many of His Natural Teeth that He must get Dentures at which Time He has a Revelation. He realizes at Last the Necessary and Enjoyable Link between Eating, Teeth, Tongue and Stomach. This Moment of Clarity leads to the Narrator taking a Great Deal of Pride in His Artificial Teeth to the Point that He rearranges His Diet to Ensure They Remain Perfectly Intact and Looking Phenomenal.

The Narrator’s Fascination at the Age of 62 turns from His Teeth to Those of Various Animals who He comes to Admire for Their Dental Prowess. The Narrator decides to Build His Own set of Customized Dentures made from a Selection of Different Animals. The Animal Dentures are a Labor of Love and are finally Completed when the Narrator is 70.

Then at 71….Well You’ll have to Watch and See For Yourself.

Enjoy.

Tidbits For Shits and Giggles: Henry Eats

Have You ever found something Wildly Entertaining without Actually being about to Explain Why? For Example I have Mentioned one of My Favorite “Jokes” as it were is as Follows:

Why Do Ducks Have Webbed Feet? To Put Out Forrest Fires.

Why Do Elephants have Flat Feet? For Stomping Out Flaming Ducks.

Granted this isn’t what one would refer to as a Joke by Traditional Standards as its Completely Absurd, Makes Absolutely No Logical Sense, and is Completely Void of Any and All Context. Whoever is Responsible for this Joke had a Very Eccentric Sense of Humor, Was Mentally Unwell, or Was Quite Intoxicated at the Time (Our Money is On Intoxicated be it Insanely Drunk, Higher Than Fuck, or Tripping Balls). No Matter the Reason the  Joke always makes Me Smile without Fail.

Henry Eats by Ben Wheele has some Similar Features as it Lacks any kind of Context, is rather Absurd, Kind of Oddly Creepy, and God Only Knows what the Point is or Even if there is One to Begin with. It’s Simply a Quirky Little Piece of Animation that’s Best to be Taken at Face Value. Enjoy.
