Friday Splatter Horror Movie: COLOR ME BLOOD RED!

FYB is Delighted to bring You Tonight’s feature the 1965 Cult Classic Splatter COLOR ME BLOOD RED by None Other than “The Godfather of Gore” Herschell Gordon Lewis! Color ME Blood Red is the Third Movie in what Fan’s have Dubbed Lewis’s Trilogy of Blood/Gore along with Lewis’s Blood Feast 1963  (Also Featured on FYB), and Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964).

           

Brief Plot Summery: Color ME Blood Red is The Gruesome and Gory Tale of the Temperamental and Annoyingly Pompous Painter Adam Sorg. Adam is obsessed with becoming the Next Big Thing in the Fine Art World, and is Desperately trying to Sell His Paintings to a Local Art Gallery. A Prestigious Art Critic who was invited to the Exaction is Shocked and Appalled by the Sorg’s work much to His Dismay. The Critic makes a Snide Comment about how Sorg’s Paintings Lack True Color which set Sorg off Down a DARK, BLOODY, AND MURDEROUS PATH to Critical Acceptance.

           

Later back at Sorg’s Art Studio His Obnoxious Girlfriend accidentally Cuts Her Finger on a Nail sticking out of a Painting Frame. Sorg sees the Blood on the Canvas and His Psychotic Mindset leads Him to Believe that Blood provides the Color His Art has been Lacking. While convincing His Girlfriend to Use Her Blood She Recoils at the Thought, and tells Sorg to use His Own Blood. Sorg takes Her up on Her advice and Starts Painting Using HIs Own Blood, But there’s the Demented Dilemma that Sorg’s Body can Only Produce so Much Blood. Sorg then turns to Brutally Killing Female Models and HARVESTING THEIR BLOOD as a Source of Color for His Ongoing Works. Will Sorg’s Self Indulgent Slaughterfest make Sorg the Artistic Icon He Yearns to Be, Or Just an Insane Self Absorbed Serial Killer?! You’ll have to Watch and See. Enjoy

FYB is Ecstatic to bring You what is Considered to be the First Ever Splatter Film EVER MADE! This Video Nasty is the Cult Classic BLOOD FEAST composed, Shot, and Directed by “The Godfather of Gore” Herschell Gordon Lewis Himself. BLOOD FEAST immediately became Notorious for its EXPLICIT VIOLENCE AND GORE. Also the Main Character/Killer Fuad Ramses has been described as “The Original Machete-Wielding Madman”open the Door for Future Characters such as Micheal Myers (Halloween Franchise) and Jason Vorhees (Friday The 13th Franchise).

           

Brief Synopsis: Fuad Ramses and His Family have relocated from America to France, where They Own and Operate an American Style Diner. Unfortunately for the Ramses Business is less than Stealer so Fuad takes a Night Job working in the Museum of Ancient Egyptian Culture. There He is compulsively drawn to a Seductive Statue of the Ancient Egyptian Goddess Ishtar. Before long the Statue of Ishtar starts speaking to Fuad through Visions, and Finally succumbs to Her DEADLY DESIRES!

After Surrendering to The Statue of Ishtar’s Malevolent Charms Fuad begins a New Life in which MURDER AND CANNIBALISM become His Daily Routine. He starts to Prepare a Ritual Feast to Honor Ishtar with a Lavish Affair SOAKED IN BLOOD, ORGANS, AND INTESTINES OF HIS VICTIMS! As The Butchered Bodies are stacked upon the Alter of Ishtar, Fuad slowly Descends Deeper Into Utter Insanity until He serves Only as Ishtar’s Human Puppet. Briefest of Plot Summaries:

The Burning Moon depicts a Junkie and Juvenile Delinquent, Named Peter, reading to HIGHLY GRUESOME Bedtime Stories To His Younger Sister (Which are Extremely Inappropriate for Children and Adults Alike) to His Kid Sister. In the First Story Titled “Julia’s Love” a Young Woman is out on a Blind Date who just so Happens to be a SERIAL KILLER! The Second Story Tilted “The Purity” follows a MURDERING PSYCHOTIC PRIEST and the MURDER of the Suspected Killer by an Enraged Villager, who is then SENT TO HELL and is TORTURED!

Movies On My Mind: Us Is Not For Me

I think it’s Safe to Say We’ve all seen a Movie and be it Good, Bad or Indifferent We have thought to Ourselves that We if We had had the Chance We Could or Would have Done a Better Job. Regardless of the Fact I’m a Cinaphile I think We have all experienced this Phenomenon First Hand. Normally the Thoughts or Feelings One has about such a Movie no matter what they may be at the Immediately Following the Film They Simply Fade Away in No Time and Life Goes On. This is the same for Me, but with One Exception and the Exception is the Horror Movie US that was Written, Produced, and Directed by Jordan Peele.

This Movie has some how Lodged itself inside of My Skull due to the fact I have so Many fucking Issues with the Movie’s Plot/Script it’s not even fucking Funny. Its not just the Fact the Movie could have been something quite accessional if it was for all of the Problems with the Plot its also that some how in spite of all of the Issues Us was legitimately a Critical and Commercial Success above all. For the Record fuck the Critics who are all Fickle as Fuck, and Pretentious as Hell so I could give a Rat’s Ass what the So-Called Self Proclaimed Critics Think. On that Note as for Commercial Success well that one is Easy People are Sheep and Most will just Fall in Line with the Critics, and as for the Rest well there’s No Accounting for Taste as They Say.

            

The Set Up is Decent enough if Not Cliche for the Horror Genre with a Mother Adelaide who is Haunted by a Childhood Trauma when She was confronted in a Seaside Funhouse by Her Twin. Adelaide’s Family consisting of her Husband Gabe, Daughter Zora, and Son Jason)  headed out on Vacation to Their House in Santa Cruz. The Family is Upbeat upon arrival and set out Settling in for Their Family Vacation. Then Four Masked Strangers Show up Lurking int he Shadows while Standing at the end of the Drive Way. Gabe verbally confronts the Ominous Strangers who seem totally oblivious to Gabe and His Threats. The Strangers then Attack the Family and Manage to Break in and Take the Family Hostage. It is then Revealed the Masked Strangers are in fact the Family’s Evil Doppelgängers (Twins).

A Reveal this Big would Normally be saved for the End of the Movie as Apposed to the Beginning so if You’re gonna pull a Major Reveal that Soon You better damn well Believe You can Back the Rest of the Film. Unfortunately for US this couldn’t be Farther from the Case as the Movie starts to Shit the Bed right after the Doppelgänger Reveal. I have summarized  My Issues with the Movie US into a List if You Will which is as Follows.

           

  • If the Evil Doppelgängers are Supposed to be EXACTLY IDENTICAL in Every Way to Their Counterpart then why the fuck does Jason’s Doppelgänger Act like a Feral Animal scurrying around on all Fours when None of the Other Doppelgängers behave in such a Manner?!
  • Again if the Evil Doppelgängers are Truly Identical to Their Counterparts why does Jason’s Doppelgänger Pluto continue wearing a Mask once all the Other Doppelgänger Remove Theirs. The Audience finds out from Adelaide’s Doppelgänger Red that Pluto was “Born of the Fire” whatever the fuck that means and has been Horribly Disfigured by Burns.
  • Its all fine and fucking Dandy that Red is the Only Doppelgänger that is capable of Speech in Raspy Voice speaking in a Stunted Manner, BUT why the hell do all the Other Doppelgänger Grunt, Screech, Hoot, Howl, Growl, and make use of Other Guttural Sounds I mean what the fuck is the Point?! Traditionally in Horror if Your going to Kick Up The Creepy Factor You’d have the Other Doppelgängers remain Completely Silent. So it’s an Odd choice all in all.

           

  • Red tells a Tale of a Happy Girl who was Loved while Her “Shadow” remained Suffering in the Dark. Red then Explains the Doppelgängers refer to Themselves as The Tethered who Share a Soul with Their Counterparts. Then it could also be the Tethered Possibly Don’t have a Soul at All, but its Not made Abundantly Clear as to which.
  • Later towards the End of the Movie in a Secret Tunnel Red explains further that Tethered are Clones created by The Government, The Military, or Evil Corporation (Again its Not made Clear as to which it was) to Control Their Counterparts on the Surface. The Experiment Failed and the Tethered were Abandoned by Their Creators/Handlers to Fend for Themselves for Generations. The Tethered existence was Mindlessly Imitating Their Counterparts like something out of Jacob’s Ladder until Red unified Them and They Escaped to Seek Revenge. Now thats all Fine and Dandy accept WHY DIDN’T RED EXPLAIN ALL THIS IN THE BEGINNING after the Girl and Her “Shadow” Story as it would have helped the Continuity of the Film more Fluid.
  • What the Fuck are the Rabbits About?! Why the fuck Where Illegal Human Clone Creators Breeding or Housing an Army of Rabbits in Scientific Laboratory Cages/Conditions?! The Rabbits are used for some sort of Shock Tactic that Falls Far Short of its Intention.

            

  • The Fact the Tethered Look Identical to Their Counterparts and Act Independently in the Movie then Why is it Once or Twice in the Movie the Tethered would Mimic  Their Counterparts Movements precisely , but most of the time They act Totally Independent from Their Counterparts?! It’s an All or Nothing Type Situation in Either the Tethered Mimic Their Counterparts or They Don’t Scenario. Not to Mention it’s Only Pluto Jason’s Doppelgänger who Exhibits this type of Behavior while the Other Tethered Do Not.
  • The Family should have Fought and Definitively Killed Their Tethered Doppelgängers at Their House instead of Running around Aimlessly towards the Neighbor’s House. Gabe Kills His Doppelgänger Abraham while crossing a Lake or Pond in a Recreational Boat. The Kill was fucking Lame, in Fact it was so fucking Lame it took the Audience a While Before Realizing Abraham is actually Dead as opposed to Injured, Unconscious, or in some Other way Inhibited. I mean have We learned Nothing from Horror Movies? If Your fighting on the Boat and You fall off the Back You Utilize the Motor to Mangle and Mutilate the Bad Guy.
  • As Far as the Neighbors there was No Need for Them in the Film. The Family could have Killed Their Doppelgängers and Turned on Their own fucking TV they didn’t need all that Time Wasting Bullshit running to the Neighbor’s House. The Neighbors are Nothing but Excessive to the Plot. Also the Kills were LAME in the Fact this Time They are Filmed Far Back form the Actual Action.

            

  • The Final fucking Issue I have with this Talented Turd of a Movie is the Totally Botched Final Twist right before the Credits. It’s when Adelaide remembers and realizes She is Her Own Doppelgänger which seems like thats the sort of Reveal I was talking about earlier, BUT this one sounds cool  Yet it makes No fucking Sense I mean is She on a 20 year fucking Delay or something?! She can Remember every fucking disturbing Detail of that Traumatic Childhood Run in accept for the Fact She’s the Evil Twin. Thats the Evil Doppelgänger  who knowingly Switched Places with Her Counterpart?! Also if Adelaide is Her Doppelgänger then Who the Fuck is Red supposed to be a Third Clone?!

All in All Like I said it could have been a Really Good Movie if the Time had been Taken to Smooth Out all the Inconsistencies as it were, But in the End it was just a fucking Waste of Film.

A Monday Night of Sickening Cinema: The City Of The Living Dead!!!

THE CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD is a 1980 Italian Zombie Splatter Horror Movie Directed by Lucio Fulci who also Wrote the the Screenplay, and plays Pathologist Dr. Joe Thompson in the Film. Although Fulci worked in a Wide Array of Genres as a Director, Screen Writer, Producer, and Actor over His nearly 50 Career in the Film Industry. Fulci garnered an International Cult Following for His Giallo (in the Movie Context, for Italian Audiences Giallo has come to refer to Any Kind of Murder Mystery or Horror Thriller) and Horror Movies. Due to the High Level of Visceral and Graphic Violence that present in Many of Fulci’s Films that He is Frequently Referred to as “The Godfather of Gore”, A Title Given to American Splatter Movie Gore Master Herschell Gordon Lewis.

           

The Movie was released in Italy in 1980 under the Title Paura fella cotta dei Mortifications Vivrnti  in Italy which translates to ‘Fear in the City of the Living Dead’, and was Released in the United State in 1983 the Title Twilight of the Dead, which Resulted in a Cease and Desist Order from United Film Distribution Company due to the Title’s similarity to Their Own Film, George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Thus the Distributer, Motion Picture Marketing, withdrew the Film and Re-Released it under the New Title The Gates of Hell.

Brief Plot Summery:

The Movie is set in the Shunned Village of Dunwich (a Tribute to H.P. Lovecraft’s The Dunwich Horror), where the Priest Father Thomas commits SUICIDE by Hanging Himself which Results in a GATEWAY TO HELL Opening, and Turning loose a Ravenous Pack of ZOMBIES OF THE DAMNED! Meanwhile during a Seance in New York, Mary Woodhouse sees Morbid and Horrific Visions of the Priest’s Suicide, and its Dire Consequences leading up to a ZOMBIE ONSLAUGHT on All Saints Day. Mary then suddenly Collapses to the Floor and Convulses then She appears to Die, Only to be Rescued from Premature Burial by the Journalist Peter Bell. The Two Travel to Dunwich to DESTROY THE GRAVE of Father Thomas in order to Stop the MASS ZOMBIE INVASION!

           

  • An Italian Newspaper La Stampa’s review of the Film “Not recommended for easily impressionable viewers.”, with a Story that grew Progressively into a “Expressive Nightmarish Atmosphere”

Tonight’s Monday Madman Movie features the 1993 German Horror Film SCHRAMM Directed by Controversial Writer/Director Jorg Buttgereit. The Movie begins as Serial Killer Lothar Schramm’s Life Flashes before His Eyes as He Lays Dying in a Pool of His own Blood.

           

Brief Plot Summery:

Lothar Schramm is a Lonely Cab Driver who is Polite and Often invited His Visitors in for a Glass Of Cognac, but He might also Slit Their Throats and Assemble Their Bodies in Sexually Suggestive Poses. Lothar lives a Tortured and Solitary Existence Plagued by Paranoia. Lothar has Seriously Deranged Sexual Desires including Fantasies about Vaginas with Teeth, or Nailing His Foreskin to Tables. It’s Safe to Say Lothar doesn’t have a Girlfriend (or Romantic Relationship of Any Kind), and has become accustomed to His Habit of Humping Inflatable Plastic Sex Dolls. Lothar’s Social Life is Completely Non Existent as He Trudges through His Life of Rejection, and Self Mutilation without a Friend in the World. The Only Source of Happiness in Lothar’s Miserably Pathetic Life is the Seriously Sick Crush He’s  Developed for His Next Door Neighbor and Local Prostitute Marianne. What will become of Poor Marianne, can She Survive Lothar’s Dementedly Lurid Lust or Will She Succumb to Lothar’s Deadly Desires??? You will simply just have to Watch and See for Yourself. Enjoy.

FBY is Proud to Present the 2009 Thai Cannibal Horror Movie MEAT GRINDER Written and Directed by Tiwa Moeithaisong.

           

Brief Plot Summery: But (Played by Mai Charoenpura) is a DISTURBED Woman who hears Voices in Her head and Tormented by Horrific Visions. Having been Taught some Dubious and Unconventional Food Preparation and Cooking Skills by Her Mother, She decides to Open up a Noodle Stall, using the Dead Body of a Man who was Killed in a Riot as the Main Ingredient. Soon the Customers are Turning up in Droves for Her Delicious Meals, and Life start is looking up as a Nice Good Looking Young Man takes a Romantic Interest in Her. However, Her past comes back to HAUNT Her, and as her Mental State starts to Break Down, Yet more People end up on The CHOPPING BLOCK or HANGING ON MEAT HOOKS in Her Basement.

           

The Film also Tackles the Themes of Mental Illness and the Mistreatment of Women, with But’s Behavior being Depicted as being part of an ongoing CYCLE OF VIOLENCE that she suffered as a Child, and which She is now passing on to Her own Daughter. Will But’s Cannibal Cuisine end up getting Her Caught or will Her Flair for Cooking Human Flesh lead to Her to the Life She always Wanted? Wait, Watch, and see for Yourself.

FYB’s Friday Night GoreFest Film: DEAD -ALIVE!

Well after Posting Peter Jackson’s Man Eating Alien Cult Classic BAD TASTE last Week it started a rather Heated Debate around these parts which resulted in making the Natives Restless. The Issue at Hand is a Simple Disagreement. Some Here Believe Peter Jackson’s Second Feature Film DEAD-ALIVE (aka BRAINDEAD) to be Far Superior Compared to BAD TASTE. While Others Hold Their Ground that Peter Jackson’s First Film BAD TASTE is in fact the Superior of the Two Movies. So to Satiate the Scandal We decided in all Fairness that We should Also Showcase DEAD-ALIVE and Here We are.

FYB couldn’t be Happier to Present Peter Jackson’s Slapstick Splatter Zombie Horror Comedy Film  DEAD-ALIVE!!!

           

Brief Plot Summery: In 1957, Explorer Stewart McAlden and His Team Smuggle a Sumatran RAT MONKEY They have Captured on SKULL ISLAND. Monkey Rats are a HYBRID CRYPTO CREATURE thats Mean as Hell with The Bite to Match! Monkey Rats came to be when PLAUGE CARRYING WHARF RATS  from Passing Ships Invaded Skull Island and Raped The Indigenous Monkey Population resulting in the MUTANT MONSTER Known as the more than Infamous Rat Monkey.

During McAlden and His Team’s Escape from Skull Island’s WARRIOR NATIVES who Demand the return of the Captive Rat Monkey, Stewart is BITTEN by the Shanghaied Rat Monkey. This Results in Stewart being DISMEMBERED AND MURDERED by His Own Crew, Who are Terrified of the Effects of the Rat Monkey Bite. The Captured Rat Monkey is then Shipped to Wellington Zoo in New Zealand.

           

Lionel Cosgrove lives in a Large Victorian Mansion in Wellington with His Domineering Mother Vera.  To Vera’s Dismay and Disapproval Lionel falls head over heels in Love with a Lovely Spanish Romani Shopkeeper’s Daughter named Paquita Maria Sanchez. Maria is Convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Lionel and Her are Destined to be Together. When the Young Couple visit the Wellington Zoo together on a Date, Vera follows them and is BITTEN BY THE RAT MONKEY!

Although Vera seems fine Initially after being Bitten over the Next Few following Days Vera starts to become Sicker and Sicker even EATING HER OWN EAR (and Later Paquita’s Pet Dog) while having Lunch. Some After Vera DIES Only to be REANIMATED as a BLOOD THIRSTY FLESH EATING ZOMBIE, and KILLS Her Attending Nurse Mrs. McTavish Who also Turns into a Fiendish Flesh Eating Zombie. Lionel manages to Lock His Zombified Mother and Mrs. McTavish in the Basement where He keeps them Sedated with ANIMAL TRANQUILIZERS! Unfortunately for Lionel things Don’t Always Go as Planned and Vera is able to Escape from the Confines of the Basement, and ALL ZOMBIE HELL BREAKS LOOSE from there!

           

Can Lionel save Wellington before its Entire Populous is DEVOURED or Worse Transformed into MAN EATING ZOMBIES??? Find Out in Peter Jackson’s Cult Classic DEAD-ALIVE!!!

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST consists of a Documentary Crew’s Lost Footage, the Presentation of which Pioneered and Innovated the Lost Footage Genre which was Popularized later in THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.

FYB is Ecstatic to Present The Black Comedy Horror Film “THANKSKILLING” Written and Directed by Jordan Downey, and Co-written by Brad Schulz, Tony Wilson, Grant Yaffee, and Kevin Stewart.

           

Plot Summery: Centuries after the Original Thanksgiving in 1621 Five Collage Students Kristen The Good Girl, Johnny The Jock, Ali the Ditz, Redneck Billy, and Nerdy Darren head Home to Spend Thanksgiving with Their Families. Unfortunately for the Students Their Car Overheats stranding Them for the Night so They decide to Camp Out till Morning. While Sitting Around the Camp Fire Darren tells the Historic Folktale of Feathercloud, A Native American SHAMAN who was Dishonored by HEDONISTIC PILGRIM Chuck Langton, One of Billy’s Ancestors. The Enraged Featherclaoud used NECROMANCY to Create TURKIE, Who is said to appear Very Five Hundred and Five Years to SLAUGHTER ALL CAUCASIANS He Encounters.

            

Meanwhile Oscar the Hermit’s Dog desecrates a Miniature Totem Pole by Urinating on it, and prematurely Releasing Turkie who He also Urinates On. An ENRAGED Turkie KILLS THE DOG which prompting Ocar to Seek REVENGE on Turkie No Matter What. By Nightfall The Students reach Their perspective Homes Johnny tries to reconnect with His Estranged Father when Turkey Attacks KILLING JOHNNY’S PARENTS, But luckily Johnny manages to Escape the SLAUGHTER. Johnny rejoins His fiends with the Exception of Ali who is off having Sex with Her Boyfriend Greg when Turkie Shows Up and MURDERS THEM IN COLD BLOOD.

After They find Ali’s Remains, the Students decide to high tale it to Kristen’s House to see if Her Father Has Any Books in His Library That Might Help Defeat Turkie. Unfortunately for Them Turkie beats them There and after Share an Awkward Snack before Turkie Slay’s Kristen’s Dad mistakes Him for a Duck.  In the Library Darren finds a Book about Turkie , and it says He CAN BE KILLED if His Magic Talisman is Removed, Yet the Rest of the passage is Written in Code. The Students try in vane to Snatch Turkie’s Talisman from Him only to Have Turkie Escape into the Night.

Darren cracks the Code of The Book Discovering that Turkie must be BURNED AT THE STAKE after a DEMONIC PRAYER is said BACKWARDS! Billy is possessed By Turkie who enters Billy’s Body only to SHOOT HIS WAY OUT. Billy dies in Darrens Arms remembering all the Good Times They had. Then Darren, Kristen, and Johnny track Turkie back to His Tipi and Say Prayer, But as They Prepare to BURN TURKIE ALIVE Turkie comes bursting Out, and is Promptly SHOT IN THE HEAD by Oscar. Oscar leaves, and the Others go to Kristen’s House UNAWARE that the Dumpster Turkies Body is in contains RADIOACTIVE WASTE which REANIMATES TURKIE!

           

Believing that Turkie is DEAD, the Surviving Teens return to Kristen’s House. When Darren ventures into the Kitchen for a Bite to Eat He runs into Turkie who RIPS Darren’s TOUNGE AND HEART OUT, and STABS Johnny with an ELECTRIC KNIFE. A Paniced Kristen Slaps Turkie before running into a House like Shack. Turkie chases Them but Kristen sets Turkie ON FIRE with an AEROSOL FLAMETHROWER, and Oscar Congratulates Her as She EATS TURKIE’S LEGS. At The End , During a Family Thanksgiving Dinner, the Cooked Turkey Springs to Life, and in Turkie’s Voice Yells,    “DO I SMELL SEQUEL, BIOTCH?!!!”
